Not All Sugarfree and Sugarless Food Good for Teeth (2 of 2)


Naturally occurring alcohol sugars like xylitol shouldn't be confused with synthetic sweeteners such as aspartame, saccharine and sucralose
.  Synthetic sweeteners are not broken down by the body in the same way as sugars.   Alcohol sugars have calories, where as synthetic sweeteners have few to no calories.  Neither type,  however, promotes tooth decay.

Be a diligent reader of food labels; you just might be surprised by what's really inside!
